When You Should Visit Us for a Comprehensive Exam

A comprehensive eye exam determines more than just your prescription.

Our knowledgeable and experienced team takes the time to accurately evaluate your eye health to detect any potential vision or other health problems. In fact, your eyes can present signs of over 270 different systemic health conditions.

Based on your age, the American Optometric Association recommends scheduling an eye exam:

Age 18–64: at least every 2 years
Age 65+: annually

Your eye doctor may recommend more frequent visits if you’re at risk of developing an eye disease.

When you walk through the door at Howard Optometry, you can trust that you’ll be taken care of from the start of your appointment to getting any follow-up questions you have answered once you return home.

Before your appointment, you’ll receive a medical questionnaire to fill out online. Once you arrive at our office, a friendly face will greet you at the front desk to go over any necessary information before guiding you to our pre-testing area.

We’ll go through a series of pre-tests using our equipment to evaluate your eyes before heading to the exam room.

Our team of optometrists take the time to get to know you and your unique eyes, answer your questions, and provide you with explanations along the way. You’re sure to feel comfortable and confident in our care.
